Time to Go [PRP : Pollux. Orion.]

Orion listened intently to what his sister questioned...where to start their journey. She named places that he'd only heard in stories...the human village Hallow...then the mention of Sallin..at this, his ears swiveled back...all of Arnlan hated the lands of Sallin and it's crazed inhabitants....a faintest hint of fear crept into the back of his mind at the thought...though he felt he and his sister were plenty smart enough to outsmart those dumb beasts, to go there would still be quite dangerous.

He breathed a silent sigh of relief when Sofika announced that it would be best to avoid Sallin, and go there as only a last resort. There was so much more territory available to go other than that place..

Sofika was looking at him..."Might I suggest you make several rounds so that you may bring back bigger yields of meat?" He thought about that advice, and quickly nodded his agreement. Very wise advice, for there was no way they could carry more than several rabbits apiece, or if they got lucky and came across deer...He began to realize at these thoughts that this was going to be a much bigger challenge than he first realized. He was not worried, but took on a more serious look.

"Perhaps you should consider going north to begin with, to Scatterstone Beach? There you may find more deer than what you could in Arnlan. Target the older, the frail, and the very young as they would prove to be less challenging for you. Those in their peek tend to take alot more energy and time."

He smiled at the suggestion of starting at Scatterstone. The northern border always caught his curiosity at the smell of salt that drifted in from those lands....what the heck was a beach? And the thoughts of bringing back a prize as large as a deer for their first catch made him smile...that would be a proud day...

"We will not let you down, Alphess," he replied on a more serious note, knowing the task at hand was of great urgency. The pack was depending on them. He glanced back to Pollux, ready to leave and follow her lead whenever she was ready...

Pollux nodded at Sofika, Scatterstone would be a good place to start, hopefully the rogues in the area didn't feel particularly feisty, or else that would only cause problems. But feisty lone wolves were still easier to deal with than Sallin or a pack of human owned dogs. "We shall do rounds until the food stores are filled to your approval Sofika." the scout seemed sure of that, she knew to take rounds for food, two normal sized wolves such and Orion and herself could not dream to carry as much meat as a pack or a proper hunting party.

"While we are at it, I will try to steer any errant herds in the direction of Arnlan, so the hunters can catch up." A devious smile passed Pollux's lips, this was the first time she ever had to outdo another rank's specialty, and the novelty, while troublesome was encouraging to the female. "We shall leave immediately upon your say-so Sofika."

The scout's limbs seemed to stiffen, she was ready to dart at the very word, like a runner at a starting line, Pollux was fit to do out and start this.

"We shall do rounds until the food stores are filled to your approval Sofika."

Sofika nodded. That was the sort of attitude amongst the wolves of Arnlan that she liked. Especially Pollux, she was so keen on perfection and she was a really inspiring wolf. Orion was in good hands, she was sure of that. He would learn alot on this excursion. She then nodded again as approval for steering herds into the pack.

If they could do that, then perhaps the numbers of deer may increase if they find that they preferred the Arnlan territory to Scatterstone. She could monitor their breeding process until they reached a point where the deer concentration was high. This would improve the food ratings. Clever. Sofika also had the intention of kick starting the hunting rank of the pack, to help improve food standards. She mentally smiled to Pollux's comment on them.

"We shall leave immediately upon your say-so Sofika."

"We will not let you down, Alphess."

She noted the tone of Orion. Before leaving however, she had one more thing to say to Pollux. She motioned her head for the scout to approach her, and she walked away a little to create a small distance from Orion. "A small, final request, Pollux." she whispered and waited for her to come. When she did come, she glanced at Orion. "On the event of your return, I would like you to report back to me on how Orion has been coping on the journey. I would like an evaluation of his performance."

After saying this she would thank the two wolves, and nod as a signal for them to depart and fulfill the requirements of their task. Sofika trusted them, and believed that they would have a safe journey. She would watch them leave, and finally once they were out of sight she would vanish.
