Shade grinned and started to enjoy his meal. When his cousin shoved what was left of her meal towards him, he cocked his head. He sat down, licking his chops and turned to her.
"Full already?"
He scarfed down the trout he'd caught, his tail wagging slightly. She had abviously had a better life than he'd thought. When he was on his journeys, he'd always worried about finding her dead. Just the oppisite, it looked like.

"Yep," she said simply. She turned her head away from him and looked toward the trees. In truth, she did not know much about the land herself. The first time she was here, she had only lived here for about two weeks. That was enough to skim around, but not to take notice of every little thing. Since she had returned, she had kept to the outer rim, being a Sentry and all... it was part of her job.
She turned her good eye back to ShadeBlood. He had almost finished. "Once you're done there, we can go exploring."

The thought of adventures in this unknown place, just like the old days, made Shade rush to eat the rest. Of course, it hurt, but he ignored it and abandoned the rest, leaping up. His tail wagged frantically and he lept to the other side of the stream. The prospect of action...adventure...getting into big trouble...getting out of big trouble...all in one day...he grinned and slapped the ground with his forepaws playfully, barking rambuctiously.

Night watched as Shade jumped across the creek and began to act like a pup again. It was great, having him around. NightBlood was different around him. He was someone she could confide in when she didn't feel completely comfortable around others. She bounded forward, barking her reply and running passed him, inviting a game of chase. He would probably catch her within seconds. She couldn't run to save her life.
But something else caught her first. As she was running along, she looked back over her right shoulder to see how close ShadeBlood was getting. Before she could look fully forward again, something big slammed into the left side of her head and left shoulder. She fell instantly in front of a very large, very thick oak tree. Blood ran from a small cut on her head and she could feel a bruise forming on her shoulder.
After shaking her head to clear away the pain, NightBlood looked up. Surprise fell over her face. Almost instantly, it replaced with a sarcastic look.
"Oh..."
The tree would have painfully, PAINFULLY obvious to anyone who wasn't half-blind. Had she still retained the sight in her left eye, she could have lept out of the way before crashing into it.

(LOLZ...Sorry)
Shadeblood grinned and watched her race past him. At once, he gave chase. It wasn't hard to keep Night in view, but he was having too much fun to run forward and pounce her. It was almost like the time searching for her had dissapeared, and instead, it was just the years of the two being together. What fun this was turning out to-
At first, the sight of his cousin slamming headlong into an oak the size of a grizzly bear was more than slightly amusing. Shade snorted in laughter and paced forward, looking down at her. Seeing that she was hurt, though not by much, he smiled weakly.
"You're either really blind or really stupid. Either way...that was funny"

{{ROFLMAO!! I had to do that! It was bound to happen anyway! BTW: I lol-ed at Shade's comment! XD }}
At once, Night knew exactly how to reply. They had made fun of eachother when they were pups. NightBlood usually laughed when she was the subject of the jokes as long as they were in good humor, and once in a while she'd even agree or retort with a degrading comment about herself to continue the joke (either that, or she'd have a better come back prepared about the person who made fun of her in the first place).
"I'll go with blind... but you don't have an excuse! HA!!"
With that, she raised a paw and aimed it for his muzzle. It was in play, and if she ended up hurting him at all, she didn't mean it. She laughed and jumped up to continue the chase before he could react.

Shade grinned and tried to step on her tail. He felt like a complete pup, but he did't care. He grinned at her reply.
"Blind, huh? To my eyes, you seem the more stupid...And I do to have an excuse: I was raised with an air-head named NightBlood!"
He snorted as her paw whizzed by his maw. He snapped at it, trying to catch her for once. When she lept up, he followed, giving chase.

{{Arg... I can't think happy because of Archer's thread!!! Must. Be. HAPPY!! FUNNY!!... Ah, Fork it all. NB's gunna be sad 'cause she's cripple. DX }}
This time, NightBlood refused to look over her shoulder. Head still throbbing from the run-in with the tree, she kept her eyes infront of her... in case another on desided to jump out and hit her again. ShadeBlood's comment had drifted over her, hadn't effected her at all. Almost every joke bounced off her as if she was made of rubber. However, that didn't mean she was completly invincible.
She soon slowed to a half-hearted gallop, and even that didn't last too long. The elder cousin stared at the ground before her as she limped over a small hill, the incident still fresh in her mind. She wished to hunt as other wolves did. She wished to run with them, but it was impossible now. Being half blind was no big problem for a while, but after aquiring the injury on her leg... she was utterly useless.
The great ex-heir of Draviria, reduced to nothing more than a lowly Sentry... Though she was grateful to Sofika and Karolek for accepting her twice and giving her the rank, it didn't change the fact that she had stepped down from such a high title. It was, perhaps, only the rank of Beta that would avenge her downfall.

Shadeblood smiled, following his cousin, for once in a long time cheery. But he realized that she wasn't smiling like she was just a moment ago. He frowned and paced forward, only to see his cousin slowing. As she came to a stop, he leaned over to her, worried. She looked so sad...what could he do...?
"Night...? You alright...?
(ARG!! *slams head against the wall* I don't post in forever, and whn I do, it's so short!! Dangit...)

NightBlood stoped and sat down as ShadeBlood leaned toward her. Her eyes stubbornly connected to the ground, she mulled over specific ways to reach her goal. She could ask for it... but what if another wolf showed more promise than her? Well, all the more reason to ask. She could train herself and hope that her Alphas would watch. They would know why, they always did. But what if they didn't need a beta? Hardly- the pack was so spread out and confused that a beta would probably be more than welcome to help get Arnlan in order.
"Night...? You alright...?"
She looked up into the mirrored eyes of her cousin, only his were worried. His care was likely the only she'd recieve from any other wolf in Arnlan. She'd need his help to reach the rank as well.
"Fine, cousin... fine," she answered, standing up as realization washed over her. She had been happy upon his return, but now she was eternally grateful that he had made the journey to find her. She might have gone mad otherwise, here, in this lonely land. It was peaceful, yes, but also haunting.
"Come. The tour continues. Where to next?"
The question was more to herself than ShadeBlood, unless there was a specific thing he wanted to know about or see. With that, she led him down one of the many game trails.

Shade frowned, not sure about her reply. She could be fine, but not the best she could be. He flicked his ears and smiled. Maybe he'd be able to help her be happy again. After all, they'd been alright when they were pups. But so much had happened...It was understandable if she was forlorn.
He grinned and took off after his cousin. Well, at any rate, she looked alright now. Again, not exactly happy-go-lucky, but he wasn't either, really. He snorted at her question.
"How am I supposed to know? I don't exactly live here, Night."

A word sparked an idea. Live? Yes! He needed a place to sleep! After such a long journey, he'd have to be dog-tired... in a manner of speaking. Night lifted her head and looked back at him, her face now returning to it's previous giddy-look. With a laughing smirk, she raised both back legs and aimed a kick at his chest. Wether it hit or not was not her consern. It was soft enough not to cause harm.
"You do now, genious! Come on!"
With that, she took off at a fast lope. She would take him to her den, where he could sleep until he found or made another one not too far away. Usually she and every other wolf would prefer to sleep under the stars, but it was nice to have a warmer place to doze during the freezing nights in Arnlan.

"Oof!"
Shade dodged back enough that the backwards kick barely hit him, but he ended up toppling backwards in the process. He leaped back up and watched her, grinning as her words started to burn in his head.
"You do now, genious!"
That's right...he was finally here with his cousin, somewhere he could live every day to the fullest. He shook his head, trying not to cry his happiness out to the world, but it didn't work. Instead, he raced forward, threw back his head and let out a joyous howl.
