Crunch crunch crunch crunch! Crow skidded to a stop, agility just kicking in in time for her to a rather large ebony trunk in her all too sudden halt. Playful grin vanishing, her ears pricked in an alertness that mingled with something that verged on panic. Whatever – should that be whoever? - it was that rushed along the snow with such heavy footfalls was surely not Nightblood. No, it was much too rapid. The scent, at least, reassured her that whatever it was – smelled like another wolf – was Arnlanian. She sniffed again. It seemed to be headed towards the other sentry.
With a sharp turn on the spot, the sepia she-wolf rushed back toward the direction from which she had just came. Her heart beat quicker this time. The tense feeling of the adrenaline coursing through her muscles coupled nicely with the tuft of fur that flicked uncomfortably across her eyes. Luckily she hadn’t been too far away. No, it wouldn’t have been fair on Night with her gamey leg to dart away at top speed. ”Compadre!” came an excitable yell from ahead, sharply followed by ”LOOK OUT!” Crow didn’t recognize the first voice, but the second, louder one that rang in her ears was obviously the husky voice of night. The small figure of the older sentry erupted from the thorny undergrowth just in time to lock eyes on the tense figure of her rank-equal sliding head-first down an incline, right on the path for the dark figure who she did not recognise. Instinctively Crow screwed her eyes up tight and turned her head away from what seemed like the inevitable crash…
[Yuck, sorry it's cruddy...]

Imagine the surprise on RavenShards face when she met her friend for the second time careening towards her at an alarming speed. "LOOK OUT!" It seemed to happen in slow motion. RavenShard slowly looked up, eyes wide as saucers at the leviathan wolf sliding towards her, unstoppable as the 12:00 to Kloteck.
She screamed a gutteral scream... sounding more like a turkey than a wolf, and was instantly plowed under like a... like a... well, like a smaller thing thats being run over by a larger thing.
Her back slammed into the ground uncomfortably, her back legs flying into the air. And all was dark.
After what seemed like eternities, she opened her eyes to see more darkness. She drug a paw across her eyes to clear the dirt and snow from them. Dirt and snow was in her mouth, in her ears, in her fur, everywhere. She stood up and shook herself off, sending dirt clods everywhere and looking like she hadn't bathed in weeks.
"WOW!" She said fervently, tail swishing side to side, as if she had just witnessed an amazing thing.

Blood cringed before they made impact. The collision was only slightly painful to her, she being the larger of them. After plowing over RavenShard, she began tumbling and twisting through the forest. Luckily there were only saplings in her way and she soon came to a stop. Raising herself up on shaky legs, the Sentry's head twirled after such a fall. The forest was moving, which was indecent on it's own, in circles around her. She growled, bidding it to stop, but it quickly turned into a whimper when her head began to hurt. All the while, she was trying to keep her footing, but was failing miserably.
Annoyed with the current happenings, Blood attempted the go back and apologize for running into RavenShard. Unluckily enough for her, she was going the entirely wrong way. She closed her eyes trying to make the forest stop spinning. Once she felt the wind on her face again, she new she was back at the river... or so she thought. The only difference here was that there was a frozen pond and not a flowing river in front of her. When she couldn't smell RavenShard or Crow, she deduced that they were on the other side of the river. A few steps further and she quickly realized where she was.
Night had placed a paw directly on the ice. Not being aware of the fact that it was ice, she found out a little too late. She put too much pressure on that foot and it quickly slipped out from under her, bringing her head down to meet the hard ice. Nearly biting her tongue off, the Sentry moaned at the sudden pain in her chin. She opened her eyes to find herself sliding across the ice. The momentum ceased soon enough and she was able to view the large pond from the very center of it.
In too much pain to have enough will power to get up, NightBlood howled from the lake, hoping RavenShard and Crow would be able to hear her.

Ears flattened back, Crow had clenched her eyes shut just in time.
”LOOK OUT!” The shout was soon followed some sort of horrible, almost other-worldly scream and then SMACK!
After the slightest of pauses, Crow slowly opened a single eye, peering out at the aftermath. She had missed the collision itself – something that would’ve looked rather awkward and painful – but somewhat gathered what had happened from the end position of those involved. The first figure was rooted to the spot, legs flailed in the air. It was the female she hadn’t known. And she wasn’t moving. The sepia sentry, rooted in shock to the spot, took in a sharp breath. She watched impatiently, silently urging the other to move. It took some time, but eventually she did. Crow heaved the breath out in relief. Soon as the other had straightened herself out, she cried out happily. Crow lolled her tongue from her mouth in a grin, tail waving to match. The enthusiasm was contagious, it seemed.
It was sudden that she remembered the other involved. A quick scan of the surrounding snow-topped forest… Nightblood was nowhere to be seen. The tail-wagging ended as quickly as it started. Crow glanced around. Surely the huge female would be fine, right? She had always seemed like she could survive anything. Then came a howl, rattling with fear and pain. With time only for a panicked glance at the previously over-excited unknown, the mute charged toward the direction. There was only so far Night could have tumbled, then stumbled, her way to. Though she had been out of sight and out of scent, with a speed and a hint of scent she was found with speedily. Crow skidded to a stop, eyes darting from the black and tan wolfess to her surroundings. She recognized this place. Some sort of sense of danger, a gnawing feel of danger, tingled at the back of her neck, making the fur there stand on end. Her mouth had gone dry, her limbs numb. It clicked. There was a pond here. It froze over quickly when winter set in, but it never seemed to freeze completely until midwinter. With a little luck, Crow had never had the absence of mind to find herself in such a position. Now, however, called for a test of its limits. The winter was waning, only deepening her concern. Concentrating on a single, quivering paw, she stepped down on the frozen surface – notably more solid than the snow under her other feet. As she shifted her weight, the icy surface bellowed an unhappy creak. With a gulp she turned to check if the other had followed. Surely there must have been a better way…

After the initial shock of the situation, RavenShard looked around for her friend. She spun in a circle, but all she could see was black trees cast in sharp relief on white snow. She drew in a deep breath through her nose, snorting. No scent... where could she be? Hiding and go Seeking? Oh no! She turned around to see the sepia colored wolfess look quite anxious.
When a fear-laced howl pierced the peaceful winter day RavenShard frowned. Oh no! Be it bad energy that seeks to take her friend away from the earth?
Raven leapt into a gallop, closing in behind the wolfess. When she broke even, the female stopped. Raven threw her front legs out to stop herself, nearly landing on the unseen ice.
RavenShard watched in awed silence as the sepia-colored wolfess tested a surface with her paw. In the instant she heard the bellowing crack, she knew what danger NightBlood was in. She drew in her breath deeply in a gasp.
She began to think.
Surely, it wouldn't be smart if another wolf walked on the pond... it would just add more weight and endanger both of them. The safest thing for all of them was for NightBlood to walk to the edge.
RavenShard sat back, settling her weight on the flats of her back paws and cupped her front paws to her mouth.
"NIGHT... BLOOD!!!" She bellowed across the pond, "FIND... THICK ICE... AND WALK... TOWARD US! MOVE... SLOWLY!!!

"NIGHT... BLOOD!!!" She bellowed across the pond, "FIND... THICK ICE... AND WALK... TOWARD US! MOVE... SLOWLY!!!"
NightBlood's world was just about set right by the time she heard a voice. She had figured out that she had landed in the middle of a pond. Her jaw hurt a bit, she was otherwise uninjured. One quick shake of her head and she was able to figure out what RavenShard was talking about. The Sentry looked around once and tried to get her mind around the concept of #1: Getting up, and #2: Moving.
Slowly, Blood picked up her right forepaw and placed it at an angle better suited for picking herself up. However, once any weight was pressed upon it, it quickly slipped out from under her. Annoyed, she looked around. Soon she found a snow-covered spot on the ice. Digging her claws into the frozen water, Night pulled herself over to the snow, stuck a paw on it, and stood up.
She looked over to the two other Arnlanians. A white line arched its way from Crow's paw to an unseen area further away from them, as if marking the edge of a border. Curious, she picked her front paws up and bounced them off the ice. So sound. It was as if the pond was made of rock. Perhaps it was shallower on her side, and therefore thicker ice had accumulated here. Whatever the case, she wouldn't be swimming today.
Not letting go of her happy mood, she did the same thing again, only this time more roughly and in the other two's direction. It was a play bow.
"The ice over here isn't going to break! Come on! Let's play!"

((Gah, sorry, busy weekend!))
The great creak the less-frozen side of the lake had set Crow’s instincts on ‘override’. Her automatic response was a short gasp and to hastily back away from the threat of the pond. As she back, the other pulled her scraggily body to a halt. The female, cross across her face bright in the low light, yelled loud and slow as though NightBlood was deaf. The smaller sentry shot her a frazzled glance. There was something that was… odd about that one. But it was obvious she was playing her part in helping out, so Crow quickly forgot about it. For now.
The words seemed to work. The dark figure across the frozen water slowly rose. Crow couldn’t help but flinch with every shake. After what seemed a great age of worry, Nightblood had risen and… dropped into a playful bow?
"The ice over here isn't going to break!” Crow’s line if sight dropped, focusing on the ice beneath her fellow sentry’s feet. A fault had formed – a ring designating where the ice was thickest. Crow shot Night a questioning glance. She wasn’t convinced. She would have much preferred the larger female plant herself on solid ground, somewhere where freezing water posed much less of a threat.
And then the words Crow had never thought she’d hear in that gruff, almost masculine tone. Let's play!"[/b] Well, that just proved it didn’t it? Nightblood had hit her head. She was delusional. Crow shifted uncomfortably. She turned to the she-wolf next to her, an exasperated look that simply cried “help!” firmly planted on her features.

"The ice over here isn't going to break! Come on! Let's play!"
RavenShard bellowed a loud, unladylike, deep, "WHAAAAAT?"
This was making no sense to RavenShard at all! Here she was, in the middle of a pond, dancing on ice, wanting to play? Was this delirium or had Raven rubbed off on her?
As the unnamed wolfess shot a desperate glance at RavenShard, that infamous insane smile creeped up on her face.
"OKAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!" Raven bellowed, leaping sprightly on the ice and bolting toward NightBlood at breakneck speed.

Laughing at the black and red wolf's eagerness, Blood jumped and skidded out of the way. Hopefully the healer would slow down to a stop or land in a pile of snow on the other side. Slipping and sliding on her paws, somehow the Sentry was able to make it over to Crow. She gave another play-bow, her claws holding her in place as her tail wagged furiously. She jumped up with a playful bark and turned back toward RavenShard, an idea coming to mind.
With less speed than Raven's, Blood gave chase, hoping the younger female would see her and try to bolt away on the ice. Chace was not her favorite of games, but she was not about to wrestle with either one of these fleet-footed females. She needed a male to spar with. So she resorted to her least favorite, but still enjoyable game- Chase-the-Shaman.

"WHAAAAAT?"
Crow breathed a sigh of relief as the medic seemed to agree with her general line of thought. It was a feeling that was short lived.
" "OKAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!""
Had she been human, Crow’s face would’ve been slapped straight into her hand. Instead her face fell and she stared out with a blank look firmly in place. They were both insane.
Realisation soon sunk in, and with it a knot or worry welled up in her throat. This… this, in her opinion, was not good. The sepia she-wolf trotted panicky along the edge of the pond, watching with a feeling of fear for her packmates. Nightblood made her slippery way back to Crow, wriggling about playfully. She slid down half-heartedly into a matching position, though the expression in her eyes was rather more resembling of nagging mother. With another jostle Night was dashing back, chasing. Crow bolted upright, feeling rather queasy. There would be no way that she would set foot on that ice by choice, game or not.

And for the second time today Raven was careening in a terrible way. "WHOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She yelled, sounding less like a strangled turkey. Her front legs went under her and she missed NightBlood by a long shot, skidding away to the other side of the pond. As expected, she met a face full of snow.
Clearing the snow from her face and swallowing the last bit in her mouth, she looked back to the other side to see a giant wolf thing heading toward her.
"WWHHHHHAAAAAAAAAH!!!" She gargled once again like a turkey being choked, and started to bolt away... except she wasnt going anywhere. Her claws scratched the ice, but all she managed to do was slip and fall. Her brain hatched an idea and in a split second, got a fair grip and with a running start, careened toward NightBlood... at the very last second, just before collision, she fell on her belly, attempting to slide straight under NightBlood and back towards Crow. Not bad, for a madwolf.

Blood skidded, trying to stop, when RavenShard began to careen toward her. She turned tail and attempted to run back toward Crow. Her claws, however, would not cooperate. They slashed and scratched at the ice, barely making her move and inch. She had to admit, she needed more practice on ice.
Eyes wide, the Sentry looked over her shoulder, horrified by the ever fast-approaching RavenShard. She yelped and moved her legs faster, her limp making her trip. No dice. She wasn't moving. There was a sudden rush of air beneath her that made her jump. Landing awkwardly, she realized that Raven had passed under her. Taking a moment to gather her thoughts, she laughed. That smart little Shaman had dropped to her stomach. Clever. The mad wolf continued to amaze NightBlood. She gained a bit of footing and ran after the younger wolf, barking playfully.

Crow continued her pacing of the edge of the pond. It was quite possibly the noisiest she had ever been, with a tirade of soft (but blatantly disapproving) tongue clicks erupting from her mouth. Every thudding step produced a wince from her, predicting some sort of inevitable pain, imagined cracks quickly gathering – and with every slip her ears were pulled back ever further into what must have been straining discomfort. Still, she didn’t notice that – that was clear enough from the panic-stricken look in her eyes. The kind of look a mother got when her child was playing too close to the edge of a cliff.
This was crazy! She kept repeating it in her mind – a sad attempt to scream the words out telepathically. Sense, however, still seemed to allude her two pack mates who still gleefully (and rather clumsily) danced across the ice.
Too busy concentrating on glares filled with motherly disapproval, it was all too late that she noticed the black and red blur sliding at a rather alarming speed toward her…

Laughing maniacally, RavenShard gained speed as she slid farther and farther away from NightBlood, splaying her legs out and looking like an overgrown furry penguin. It was too late that she realized she was headed on a collision course with the other unnamed she-wolf. Trying to get up, she only suceeded in flopping upside down and backwards, still heading toward the madly clicking wolf. She would surely crash.
"LOOK OUT!" That phrase seemed to be popular today. As she headed closer and closer to the bank, she curled up in a ball. Bad thing to do. Concentrating her center of gravity only made her go faster and the bank provided a ramp for her, where shewould fly into the Sepia wolfess.

"LOOK OUT!"
NightBlood looked on in horror as RavenShard began to head directly for Crow. She picked up her paws and attempted to run after the younger female and catch her before she did any real damage, but her claws kept slipping on the ice. Not getting anywhere, she soon gave up and called out to her fellow Sentry.
"CROW, GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!"
Quickly glancing around, Night soon found a snow-trail and planted a paw on the soft crystals. Traction regained, she ran full speed toward the place where Crow and RavenShard would collide. Although her speed could not match Raven's, she would at least be there quick enough to aid anyone who got hurt.
