The omega is a shaggy beast, mostly hair over a rather slim build, though last to feed, he's not as skinny as one would think. His paws are large, as though he had never had the chance to grow into them properly. Apus's face is thick, and somewhat jowly with a stringy mane that falls over his face, but does not obscure his gray eyes. Though his expressions are almost always that of happiness, even given his position. He carries himself with demure lowliness, as to be expected of his stature in the pack.

Like his siblings, Apus is brightly colored and his coat glossy almost unto a metallic sheen. His face and the base of his tail is bronze and his back a shade of dark pewter, highlighted with white down his stomach and front legs.

See me for what I am//
Apus is a wolf that does not bother himself with troublesome things. Many call him lackadaisical, or foolhardy. Which may or may not be true. Truly more a grown up pup than an adult wolf, Apus did not have the drive and ambition that the rest of his family had. He is a simple wolf, not coveting power, he serves the status quo, even if that means that he sits on the bottom.

He's a good natured male, very gentle and calm, with a sweet demeanor. He's playful and silly, somewhat of a clown among such deathly serious wolves. However Apus is not very quick on the uptake, he's not stupid, but he's slow, that coupled with his natural kindness makes him somewhat gullible; while having a fair share of common sense still does not see why others would cheat, lie or betray one another. Which has put him in more than a few tight places. But it does make him well suited for his position as Omega, his naivety and playful behavior makes him a fine pup sitter.

While often many wolves would scoff at Apus's complacency at being omega, Apus does not see it nearly as insulting a position. He is doing a valuable service for his pack. Even if it is to only make the other wolves look better. He's gracious that he wasn't put to death for his own mental short falls...and that the alphas at least tolerate him in his parent’s homelands. While some of his packmate’s slings and arrows hurt him, he does what he can for the pack, and keeps a low profile until somebody needs a clown to laugh at.

Like all of the Austrinus and Navis brood, Apus was born in the deeper edges of Arnlan to the now retired Betas, away from the surrounding borders of Hallow and what is now Sallin. But unlike his siblings, who were all destined for some sort of greatness, Apus's life was wrought with conflict and failure at the get-go. Born the runt of the litter, Apus was the last to be born, and the toughest of the pups Navis gave birth to in her first litter. It was not a stretch of the imagination that perhaps, Apus stayed in the womb too long, which had given the youngster a bit of brain damage. (Though as a joke that had passed through Arnlan, maybe, all the good brains were handed out to his older siblings.)

Either way, as all of his siblings grew so quickly, Apus did not flourish as the other pups did. He was always the last to do anything right, how to howl, how to walk, how play, he was always too slow. Even when he learned to talk, he could not do it as proficiently as most his age. It always seemed he was too big, and too underdeveloped...and for the most part, far far too trusting.

In other words, he was considered somewhat of a liability, not to be trusted with complex tasks or responsibilities that were too taxing for his easily sidetracked and changed mind. Though he was never put into the position of Omega formally, it went without saying that Apus would never be given any rank with his feable mind, and he simply fell in line with being the last to eat, the butt of everyone's jokes, and the official pupsitter for the rest of his life.

At the present time, he is in Arnlan, taking care of his father whilst the old wolf lives out what is left of his life. Although not completely aware of what is happening to his father, he does understand that his father is gradually dwindling.
