HAPPY KARJA TEMPLATE THING OMG
Name: Merrin
Nicknames(s): Merry[Not used often]
Gender: Female
Age: 5 years
Species: Dog [Smooth Collie/Irish Setter/Portuguese Watchdog/Dutch Shepherd] (Yes, a muttski)
Height: 2' 4"
Weight: 74 lbs
Fur: Mostly white, with grey and black patches here and there
Markings: A light grey circle over her left eye, a black splotch under her right eye, all four paws are black, a black marking on her left shoulder that looks like a badly drawn bird silohuette
Eyes: Left light blue, right deep brown
Tattoos: None
Piercings: None
Extras: Typewriter! xD
Build and Conformation: Thin, lanky and tall, with long legs and sparse fur
Over-All appearance: Merrin is, to put it bluntly, of a very freakish appearance. Her overlarge fluffy black ears, the left one bent over at the tip, give her a slightly comical look. Many think that her blue eye is blind, while it actually sees perfectly fine. Her white, grey, and black coat is rather thin and unimpressive -- Not luxurious like a collie's, or flat like a greyhound's. Her paws, too, are black and overlarge, which leaves a suspiciously wolfish pawprint to record where she's been. A black mark on her left shoulder resembles a badly drawn, blurry bird. If you look hard enough, and have a lot of imagination, you can see it. Her legs are long and thin -- The legs of a runner. Her only Irish Setter inheritance is a thin streak of autumn red that mixes in with her tail. Altogether, her appearance is a bit odd. Some could possibly consider it 'freaking adorable', though.
Physical Limitations: Not entirely strong
Health/Illnesses: None that she knows of
Original Pack: None
Pack at this time: None
Rank and/or Title(s): Loner/Rogue
Talents/Skills: Typing [See history], Running
Mannerisms: Merrin seems a bit oblivious to manners. She's not a 'omgzz bow to teh alpah!!!!11!' kind of dog
Speech Patterns: Usually long, rambling speeches about nothing in particular. She's one of those that start's by mentioning popcorn, and ends of talking about Lewis Carroll.
Style: Um...Happy and Weird

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-History-
How did your character and what was life before now? Spending time with the family, mostly.
Struggles and hardships so far? Her mother was hit by a car, and her father and brother left while she was out wandering around
Forced down this path or was it their choice? Choice.
Any regrets? Not being there for her father and brother when her mother was hit
What special circumstance have shaped them into who they are? Death/Leave of family members
Has anything happened to them so far that they can not forgive or live down, or anything that has scarred them? Well...her mother died, and her other family left her.
History in Short: Merrin was born in a dark corner of the village, along with her brother and parents. The whole family was very devoted to each other, and always shared their meals, and stories of what happened during the day. It was a peaceful existance, for the most part. Food was plentiful -- All one had to do was avoid the humans to get some. They left it everywhere; silly foot-draggers. That was what her parents always called them. The habit pretty much went on to her.
One day, when Merrin was about a year old, she went wandering around the village as usual, looking for food and other stuff she could add to her hoarde of interesting things. That was when she saw the typewriter. It was a wonderful thing -- Missing the 'M' key, and holder of no ink or paper. But Merrin didn't know what the flaws were; she could only see it's magnificence. The lovely clicking noise it made...the way the little keys went down as she pressed them with her overlarge paws. It was wonderful. Without a second thought, she dragged it home. It was a small one, and not too heavy, luckily. When she finally got to their 'house' in the corner, there was no one there. Not too unusual...They were probably out exploring.
And so Merrin waited, for about an hour, before she began to get nervous. They should have reported by now...it was getting dark. Tucking her treasured typewriter into a dark corner behind a trashbin, the little dog went out to look for them. It didn't take long for her to find her mother, dead in the road. One of those foot-dragger machines had killed her. Although the cars then were unimpressive, more like boxes with wheels than anything, and there were few of them. Merrin hadn't seen this particular one -- Nor had she ever seen one. She was used to the horses and carriages. But, the fact remained...her mother was dead, and her father and brother were gone.
Isolated and alone, Merrin stuck around the village, continuing on with life. Unlike her father and brother, she dealt with the pain, rather than running off. And so, she simply wanders around the villages, beaches, and docks, making a living for herself. And although her typing skills are not all that refined -- she hits about four keys with every tap -- she still takes pride in that rather unusual skill. Or, simply the fact that she has one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-The Mental-
Defining Characteristics: Intelligence, Happiness, Humour...ness, the fact that she refers to all humanoids as 'Foot-Draggers'
Goals: To live her life to the fullest, pretty much
Usual disposition: Happy and joking, but not running around like a complete idiot -- Merrin does have a serious side, especially when it comes to things like fighting and wars. Merrin is naturally suspicious, but is easily forgiving. Rather forgetful at times, the female usually forgets what she was mad about in the first place anyway.
Alignment(Good, evil, neutral): Neutral, because war sucks. But, definately leaning more towards good.
How does the character see themselves? She simply sees herself as an average dog. Nothing special, really.
How self-confident is the character? Borderline. She isn't the All-Powerful Wizard of the Seven Seas, but she isn't Little Miss Hide-in-the-corner, either.
How does the character deal with emotions? She just lets the emotions do what they want. When she's angry though...she's like a full-blown gale coming down.
How do they deal with loss and change? Merrin is very clingy, and gets attached to certain objects/critters. When she loses them, she pretty much goes into a big mental breakdown.
What does the character want out of life? To be happy, pretty much
Hopes/Desires: Wishes her family was back, sort of wants a mate...but not desperately running around like, 'hi ur hot lolz lets be mates plz kthx'
Fears/Phobias: Losing someone/thing she loves, cars
Dirty Secrets: "One time...I stole some food from some lady" -giggles nervously-
Ruled by emotion or logic or a combination: Pretty much a combination. It really just depends on the situation.
Self centered, selfish, or selfless: Selfless when it comes to those she loves, but selfish when it comes to things she loves...Ah, ah? -raises eyebrows and shoulders-
Polite or rude: Polite, I guess. Not really either.
Annoying or laid back: Laid back, definately.
Optimist or pessimist: Optimist!
Forgiving: Very
Control freak: Sort of...NO! PUT IT OVER THERE!

Training/Education: No obedience training. : ) But, definately education...In the ways of the stray, and book learnin'!

Superstitions: Gack. I have no superstitions. -crosses fingers, avoids black cat, and pours salt over left shoulder-
